BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team moved to 3-1-1 overall Saturday afternoon by battling Buffalo State (4-0-1) to a 1-1 draw at the Bengals' Coyer Field.
Grove City forged the tie at 56:27 when sophomore midfielder
Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy) scored his second goal of 2024. Sophomore forward
Carlo Denis (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) assisted Gray's game-tying goal.
Buffalo State jumped out to a 1-0 lead 3:40 into the match when Adam Webster scored.
Grove City owned a 9-8 advantage in shots on goal. Buffalo State outshot Grove City overall, 19-13. The Wolverines held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper
Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) made six saves for the Wolverines. Almeter owns an 0.83 goals-against average through the first five matches of the season.
Grove City will host Carnegie Mellon at 7 p.m. Wednesday in non-conference action at Don Lyle Field.
