ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's soccer team earned its first road win of the 2024 season Wednesday night by storming past host Mount Union in non-conference action, 3-1, at Kehres Stadium.
Senior forward
Emma Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) scored twice and freshman midfielder
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) added her first collegiate goal in Wednesday night's victory.
Herrmann gave Grove City a 1-0 lead at 27:15 with an unassisted goal, her fifth tally of the season. She then added her sixth goal of 2024 at the 60:11 mark.
Ten minutes later, White extended Grove City's lead to 3-0 by scoring at 70:32. Senior midfielder
Lexi Zook (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) assisted White's goal. It is Zook's first assist of the season.
Mount Union's Maddy Adams trimmed the lead to 3-1 with a goal 81 seconds later.
Mount Union (2-2) held a 20-15 edge in total shots, along with a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Purple Raiders had eight corner kicks while Grove City recorded three corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper
Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) stopped a season-high eight shots to pick up the victory.
Winners of back-to-back matches, Grove City (2-1-1) will host Dickinson at 12 p.m. Saturday in non-conference play.
