GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team placed 13 men in the scoring column Saturday afternoon as the Wolverines earned an 18-2 home win over Southern Virginia (1-5) in non-conference action at rainy Robert E. Thorn Field. Grove City (4-4) charged out to a 5-0 lead in the first 13 minutes on the way to the victory.

Junior attack Kobi Bui (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) fired in a team-leading four goals to help pace the Wolverines while junior attack Matt Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and junior midfielder Luke Jayne (Vero Beach, Fla./Saint Edward's) each scored twice. 

Graduate student attack James Petrolle (Damascus, Md./Damascus), junior midfielder Zachary Hougan (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro), junior midfielder Alec Jones (Chesterfield, N.J./Notre Dame), junior midfielder Jason Muench (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park), sophomore defender Sam Stevenson (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove), sophomore long stick midfielder Ryan Evans (Crofton, Md./DeMatha), sophomore attack Rigdon Greene (Marietta, Ga./Pope), sophomore faceoff specialist Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian), freshman attack Davis Schneider (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton Academy) and freshman midfielder Tyson Bui (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) also scored Saturday.

Petrolle also assisted on two goals. Tyson Bui, Stevenson, sophomore midfielder Boden Davidson (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Christian) and freshman attack Patrick Law (Jupiter, Fla./The King's Academy) each recorded one assist.

Jayne scored a pair of unassisted goals in the first quarter to help Grove City grab its early lead. Kobi Bui, Evans and Greene also scored in the opening period. Bui added three goals in the third quarter while Stevenson and Lehberg both scored in a six-second span as the Wolverines extended their lead to 14-1 after three quarters. 

Stevenson led Grove City's defensive efforts with three caused turnovers. Sophomore defender Andrew Glasgow (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) and junior long stick midfielder Samuel Busby (Doswell, Va./Patrick Henry) both caused two turnovers. 

Junior midfielder Trey Zabroski (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) led the Wolverines with five ground balls. He won 4 of 5 faceoff opportunities. Lehberg won 10 of 14 faceoffs and collected four ground balls. 

Senior Danny Stone (Chantilly, Va./Flint Hill) made five saves in goal during the first half. He earned his third win of the season. Sophomore Tyler Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriots Ridge) stopped three shots in the second half.

Grove City outshot the Knights, 60-32. Grove City had 21 turnovers while Southern Virginia accumulated 26 turnovers. 

The Wolverines will host John Carroll at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
