AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- The Grove City College baseball team closed its Spring Break trip to central Florida with a 5-3 setback Saturday to Buena Vista (Iowa). Three Grove City errors in the top of the ninth inning allowed Buena Vista to scored four unearned runs after the Wolverines had forged a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Senior pitcher
Nick Guidas (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) struck out seven men in eight-plus innings. He yielded two unearned runs. Freshman
David Gallagher (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) recorded the final three outs in relief. He allowed one hit and no earned runs.Â

Luke Vittone (Seven Fields, Pa./Eden Christian) scored Grove City's tying run on a double play in the eighth inning. Senior first baseman
Markus Williams (Sewickley, Pa./Eden Christian) scored on a passed ball in the ninth while sophomore center fielder
Nick Sampson (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) crossed the plate on a groundout by sophomore third baseman
Kenny Lavrich (Franklin, Pa./Cranberry).

Josh Minnich (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), freshman second baseman

Grove City (6-4) will visit Oberlin at 3 p.m. Wednesday in non-conference action.
