GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team placed 17 athletes on the All-Presidents' Athletic Conference teams in recognition of their respective performances at the conference championship, held February 14-17 at Grove City's James E. Longnecker Pool. Nine men earned First Team recognition and eight swimmers captured Second Team laurels after helping the Wolverines win the conference title with 1,090 total points.
The all-conference swimming and diving teams are determined by a formula-based selection process using student-athletes' individual and relay finishes at the league's annual championships.
Sophomore
Caleb Einolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) earned the conference's Most Valuable Performer award after earning three individual wins and surpassing the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying standard in three events. Freshman
Owen Hancock (Brunswick, Ohio/Westside Christian) secured the league's Newcomer of the Year award as he won the 200 butterfly and contributed to four relay wins.

Charlie Cratty (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) and freshman John Remlinger (Granville, Ohio/Granville) achieved Second Team All-PAC status.
Einolf won the 50 free in 20.50 seconds, then won the 100 free in 44.86 seconds. Einolf also captured the 100 butterfly in a time of 48.58 seconds. He surpassed the NCAA provisional standard in the 100 free, 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, posting a pool-record time of 55.17 seconds in a time trial.
Einolf also contributed to wins in both medley relay races, the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. The 200 medley relay team of Einolf, Beukema, Pope and Sterrett opened the Championships with a winning time of 1:30.99. Einolf, Beukema, Sterrett and Hancock won the 400 medley relay in 3:21.07.
Einolf anchored the winning 200 free relay (1:22.32), which also featured Beukema, Funches and Hancock. That same foursome closed the meet by winning the 400 free relay in a pool-record time of 3:03.02.
Hancock won the 200 butterfly in 1:53.78 and added a runner-up finish in the 100 fly (49.87). He also took fourth in the 50 free (21.27) and led off the victorious 800 free relay. Myers, Pope and Funches joined Hancock on the 800 relay squad, which posted a winning time of 6:56.55.
Beukema won the league title in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.97. He added a third-place finish in both the 50 (21.00) and 100 (45.98) free. Myers took second in three events: the 500 free (4:48.73), the 400 individual medley (4:07.55) and the 200 butterfly (1:54.62).
Sterrett won three individual events, including both individual medley races. He won the 200 IM in 1:52.61, then posted a pool-record time of 4:01.81 in the 400 IM. Sterrett also won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:53.20.
Buxbaum finished as the runner-up to Sterrett in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.71. He also placed third in the 400 IM (4:11.18). Funches finished second in the 200 free (1:45.64) and fourth in the 100 free (46.96).
Mayhew won the 1650 in a time of 16:48.58. He also finished third in the 500 (4:51.07) and fourth in the 400 IM (4:12.03). Pope claimed third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.45 seconds. He also finished third in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.68) and 200 IM (1:55.98).
Vannoy finished fifth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.13 and also took seventh in the 100 backstroke (56.29). Doolittle earned third in the 200 butterfly (2:03.98) and fifth in the 200 free (1:49.48). Hopkins earned third in the 100 fly (51.56) and fifth in the 100 freestyle, recording a time of 48.49 seconds.
Remaniak finished sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.34) and seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.74). Thayer placed third in the 1650 with a time of 17:03.76, then finished fourth in the 200 (1:46.85) and 500 (4:51.82) free. Wilson, meanwhile, earned fifth in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.47) and sixth in the 100 breast with a 1:00.66 performance.
Cratty capped his freshman season by earning third in the 200 backstroke (2:00.42) and fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:04.78). Remlinger touched fourth in the 100 butterfly (52.49) and fifth in the 200 fly (2:05.44).

Dave Fritz earned the conference's Coach of the Year award.
Grove City has won six consecutive conference titles.
