BETHANY, W.Va. -- Eight Grove City College men's lacrosse players scored multiple goals Tuesday afternoon to help lead the visiting Wolverines to a 26-1 win at Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Bison Stadium. Overall, 13 men scored for Grove City, which led 13-0 at halftime.
Freshman midfielder
Tyson Bui (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) paced Grove City (1-1, 1-0) with four goals while junior attack
Matt Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima), sophomore attack
Rigdon Greene (Marietta, Ga./Pope) and freshman attack
Patrick Law (Jupiter, Fla./The King's Academy) all scored three times.Â

Alec Jones (Chesterfield, N.J./Notre Dame), graduate student attack
James Petrolle (Damascus, Md./Damascus), freshman attack
Davis Schneider (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton Academy) and junior midfielder
Trey Zabroski (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) each scored a pair of goals.Â

Blythe and Petrolle both scored twice in the first quarter to give Grove City a 6-0 lead. McClain scored with 30 seconds left in the opening period, giving the Wolverines a 7-0 advantage. Jones scored twice in Grove City's six-goal second quarter.
Ten men recorded assists for Grove City. Junior attack
Zachary Hougan (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) led the Wolverines with four assists while Schneider chalked up three assists. Agawa assisted two goals. Greene, McClain, Petrolle and Zebroski also recorded assists, as did sophomore midfielder

Grove City out-shot Bethany, 73-7, and held a 43-5 in shots on goal. Grove City also forced 29 turnovers while committing 21 turnovers. Greene and Jones both caused two turnovers.Â
Sophomore
Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian) won all 11 of his faceoff attempts. Freshman
Wesley Prentiss (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) won 10 of 11 faceoffs. Prentiss led Grove City with nine ground balls while Jones picked up seven ground balls. Lehberg tallied six ground balls while Evans and Zabroski both had five.
Senior
Danny Stone (Chantilly, Va./Flint Hill) earned the win in goal by playing a scoreless first half. He made three saves. Sophomore
Tyler Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) made one save in the second half.
Grove City will host Ohio Wesleyan at 3 p.m. Saturday in the 2024 home opener at Robert E. Thorn Field.
