WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team closed its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Wednesday night by dropping a 25-20, 17-25, 12-25, 25-20, 15-11 decision at Waynesburg in the Yellow Jackets' Rudy Marisa Field House.
Sophomore
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) paced Grove City (14-13, 5-5 PAC) with nine kills while junior
Lila Stonehouse (Hatboro, Pa./Abington) and sophomore
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) each had eight kills. Sophomores
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) and
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) both chipped in seven kills.
Junior setter
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) recorded 17 assists. Sophomore setter
Sarah Harris (Lebanon, Ohio/Mars Hill) added a dozen assists. Wirebaugh also served six of Grove City's 14 aces. Harris and sophomore libero
Julia Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) both served two aces.
Klusch tallied a team-leading four blocks. Lagaras and Stonehouse each had a pair of blocks. Fisher led Grove City with 22 digs while Dorst recorded 16 digs.
The Wolverines close the regular season Saturday with a pair of non-conference matches at Carnegie Mellon. The Wolverines face CMU at 11 a.m. before squaring off with Oberlin at 1 p.m.
