NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Four Grove City College men's cross country runners captured All-Presidents' Athletic Conference recognition Saturday afternoon at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, held at Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
That quartet helped Grove City place fifth in a tightly-bunched field. Grove City finished with 77 points, only 10 behind champion Franciscan. Geneva took second with 68 points, followed by Saint Vincent (70) and Washington & Jefferson (75).
Junior
Michael Singley (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) earned First Team All-PAC after finishing seventh overall. Singley recorded a time of 26 minutes, 20.2 seconds on the eight-kilometer course.
Sophomore
Max Ware (Winchester, Va./Handley) finished 12th by recording a time of 26:40.4. Ware earned Second Team All-PAC honors.
Two men earned All-PAC Honorable Mention. Junior
Caleb Hawke (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) finished in 15th place with a time of 26:45.6. Junior
Luke Roberts (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) secured 20th place, as he crossed in 27:04.0.
Senior Jonah Dewitt (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) became Grove City's fifth entry in the top 25 as he took 23rd place (27:06.9).
Freshman
Bayley Herman (Rush, N.Y./Rush Henrietta) took 28th (27:38.3) while senior
Ben Raduns (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) rounded out the scoring lineup by finishing 36th in a time of 28:09.9.
Saint Vincent's Tim Patterson won the event with a time of 25:35.1. The race featured 112 men.
Grove City will host its annual Twilight 5K next Friday at Robert E. Thorn Field. The Wolverines will then compete in the Mid-Atlantic Championships in Lock Haven, Pa., November 16.
