GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team opened its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Saturday afternoon by dropping a four-set decision to visiting Chatham in the Grove City College Arena. Grove City (9-8, 0-1) won the first set, 25-17, but Chatham rebounded to take the next three sets by scores of 26-24, 25-19 and 25-23.
Junior
Bella Costa (Newbury, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) helped lead Grove City's offensive attack with a season-high 10 kills. Sophomore
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) also posted 10 kills while sophomore
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) added nine kills.
Junior setter
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) recorded 18 assists while senior setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) set 17 assists. Lagaras served three aces and Wirebaugh served a pair of aces.
Sophomore libero
Julia Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) led the Wolverine defense with 25 digs. Kerr totaled 15 digs and Lagaras added 13 digs. Sophomore
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) recorded six blocks and Lagaras added five blocks. Freshman
Lilly Pool (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) had three blocks.
Saturday's match concludes the Wolverines' seven-match homestand. Grove City will visit Bethany at 6 p.m. Wednesday in conference action.
