GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Senior forward
Emma Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) recorded a single-match program record nine points Saturday afternoon while helping lead the Grove City College women's soccer team to a 12-2 triumph Saturday at Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Alumni Stadium.
Herrmann tied Grove City's single-game scoring record with four goals and added an assist in the win.
Seven teammates joined Herrmann in the scoring column Saturday as junior midfielder
Emilie Beers (Newman, Ga./Konos Academy), sophomore defender
Hannah Costa (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg Christian), sophomore defender
Emma Dailey (East Brady, Pa./Karns City), freshman forward
Marina Hahn (Beaver, Pa./Beaver), sophomore midfielder
Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler), junior forward
Annie Vannoy (Waldoboro, Maine/Medomak Valley) and junior midfielder
Anna Williams (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) all scored. The Wolverines also received an own goal.

Natalie Merrick (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian) and sophomore midfielder
Hannah Plunkard (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) both tallied assists.Â
Merrick assisted Herrmann's first goal of the afternoon at the 2:37 mark. Thiel forged a 1-1 tie when Abbey Balentine scored at 5:55 but Dailey gave Grove City the lead for good by scoring at 12:57. Plunkard assisted Dailey's go-ahead goal.Â
Stevenson scored an unassisted goal 60 seconds later while Herrmann's unassisted goal at 21:17 extended the lead to 4-1. Hahn (25:45) and Williams (41:50) both scored in the first half as the Wolverines led 7-2 at the intermission.Â
Herrmann recorded goals at 48:40 and then 50:44 to open the second-half scoring. Costa collected her first goal of the season at 56:55 while Vannoy scored an unassisted goal at 61:00. Beers cashed in a penalty kick with 4:13 left in the match for her first goal of the season.Â
Grove City (7-3-1, 4-0) piled up a 34-9 edge in total shots. The Wolverines also owned a 23-6 edge in shots on goal. Grove City tallied nine corner kicks while Thiel netted two corners.Â

Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) made one save in the first half. Sophomore
Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) blanked Thiel (3-8, 0-3) in the second half by stopping three shots.Â
Herrmann joined Ruby Mattson as the only Grove City women's soccer players to score four goals in a match. Mattson scored four times September 27, 2019 in an 8-2 win at Thiel. Herrmann leads Grove City with 13 goals, five assists and 31 points. Herrmann has 33 goals in two seasons at Grove City. She has moved into eighth place on the program's career scoring list.Â
The Wolverines will host Westminster at 4:30 p.m. Friday in conference play at Don Lyle Field.
