STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team evened its Presidents' Athletic Conference record at 4-4 by securing a 22-25, 25-21, 25-12, 28-26 victory Wednesday night at Franciscan in conference play at Finnegan Field House.
Sophomore
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) helped pace Grove City's balanced offensive attack by posting 11 kills. Junior
Bella Costa (Newbury, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) and sophomore
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) both collected 10 kills while junior
Lila Stonehouse (Hatboro, Pa./Abington) and sophomore
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) each pounded out eight kills.
Freshman
Lilly Pool (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) added seven kills on a dozen attacks.
Senior setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) tallied 23 assists while junior setter
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) chalked up 21 assists. Costa and Kerr both served two aces.
Pool recorded a career-high eight blocks to help lead Grove City's defensive efforts. Dorst delivered five blocks and Standford added three blocks. Sophomore libero
Julia Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) totaled a team-leading 29 digs. Dorst (14) and Costa (10) also had double-digit dig totals.
Grove City is now 4-1 on the road in conference play. The Wolverines return home for a tri-match Saturday in the Grove City College Arena. Grove City will face conference rival Westminster at 11 a.m. The Wolverines then host Case Western Reserve at 3 p.m. in a non-conference match.
