GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team closed the 2024 regular season Wednesday afternoon with a 1-1 home draw against Waynesburg University in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Lyle Field.
Grove City (10-3-3, 7-2-1 PAC) grabbed the lead 91 seconds into the match when junior defender
Camden Thomas (North Lima, Ohio/South Range) scored off a corner kick from sophomore forward
Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy).
Waynesburg (7-6-4, 3-3-4 PAC) forged a 1-1 tie at 73:17 when Michael Kanu scored his fifth goal of the season. Connor Jacobs assisted Kanu's game-tying score.
Grove City outshot Waynesburg, 21-6, and also owned a 7-3 edge in shots on goal. The Wolverines had 10 corner kicks whereas Waynesburg had two corners.

Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) stopped two shots to preserve the tie.
The Wolverines will host a conference tournament quarterfinal match Saturday at 2 p.m. against the No. 6 seed in the tournament. Grove City will be the No. 3 seed in the six-team draw.
