GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team continued its seven-match homestand Thursday night by earning a 25-7, 22-25, 25-9, 25-16 win over visiting Penn State Shenango (6-11) in non-conference play at the Grove City College Arena.
Sophomore
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) led Grove City (9-7) with 11 kills while junior
Lila Stonehouse (Hatboro, Pa./Abington) posted nine kills. Sophomores
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) and
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) both recorded seven kills.
Senior setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) recorded 16 assists while junior
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) tallied 11 assists.
Lagaras served 5 of Grove City's 16 aces. Kerr had three aces while Wirebaugh and sophomore
Sarah Harris (Lebanon, Ohio/Mars Hill) both served two aces.
Klusch and Standford both chalked up three blocks. Sophomore
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) led Grove City with 12 digs while sophomore libero
Julia Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) added 10 digs. Junior
Alex Anderson (Maineville, Ohio/Mars Hill) contributed nine digs.
Grove City will open its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Wolverines host Chatham.
