GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The five-match unbeaten streak of the Grove City College men's soccer team ended Wednesday night as visiting Geneva (8-0-2, 2-0-1 PAC) slipped past the Wolverines, 1-0, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Lyle Field.
Geneva's Wil Dunda scored at 30:31 off an assist from Kyle Lapoure for the only goal of the night. Grove City (5-2-2, 2-1) limited Geneva to three shots on goal and six total shots.Â
Grove City held a 9-6 edge in total shots. The Wolverines also had three shots on goal. Each team recorded three corner kicks.Â
Junior goalkeeper
Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) stopped two shots. He now owns a 0.79 goals-against average and an .825 save percentage this season.
Wednesday's match marked the fifth straight match between the two rivals that has ended with a 1-0 score. Grove City is 2-3 in those five games. The last six Grove City-Geneva matches have been decided by one goal.
Grove City will visit Thiel at 12 p.m. Saturday in conference action.
