GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team improved to 5-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by securing a 1-0 Senior Day win Saturday afternoon over visiting Chatham at Don Lyle Field.
Grove City (8-3-2) broke through at the 20:02 mark as junior midfielder
Camden Thomas (North Lima, Ohio/South Range) scored his second game-winning goal of the season. Fellow junior midfielder
Matt Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) assisted the Thomas goal.
Grove City outshot Chatham (5-5-5, 3-2-3) 26-6 for the match, including a 15-1 edge in the second half. The Wolverines also had a 13-4 edge in shots on goal, as well as an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper
Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) nailed down the shutout win by making four saves. It is Grove City's fifth shutout of the season. Almeter lowered his goals-against average to 0.94 for the season.
Thomas also scored the game-winning goal eight nights ago in a 4-2 home win over Westminster.

Will Rybka (Peninsula, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian).
The Wolverines will visit Saint Vincent at 7 p.m. Tuesday in conference play.
