GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team improved to 5-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by securing a 1-0 Senior Day win Saturday afternoon over visiting Chatham at Don Lyle Field.

Grove City (8-3-2) broke through at the 20:02 mark as junior midfielder Camden Thomas (North Lima, Ohio/South Range) scored his second game-winning goal of the season. Fellow junior midfielder Matt Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) assisted the Thomas goal.

Grove City outshot Chatham (5-5-5, 3-2-3) 26-6 for the match, including a 15-1 edge in the second half. The Wolverines also had a 13-4 edge in shots on goal, as well as an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Junior goalkeeper Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) nailed down the shutout win by making four saves. It is Grove City's fifth shutout of the season. Almeter lowered his goals-against average to 0.94 for the season.

Thomas also scored the game-winning goal eight nights ago in a 4-2 home win over Westminster.

Prior to the match Grove City honored seven players who are concluding their careers this fall: Almeter, who is graduating early, senior defender Jacen Davis (Fort Worth, Texas/Citrus Valley, Calif.), senior midfielder John-Luc Harbour (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield), graduate student midfielder Connor Hudson (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), senior defender Luke Kimmich (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), senior forward Jordan Rebsamen (Charlotte, N.C./Carmel Christian) and senior midfielder Will Rybka (Peninsula, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian).
