LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team erased a two-set deficit Saturday afternoon on the way to a 20-25, 15-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-7 victory at Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference play in the Carey Center. It is Grove City's second five-set road win of the week. The Wolverines won Wednesday night at Bethany in five sets.
Sophomore
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) paced Grove City (11-8, 2-1 PAC) with a season-high 18 kills while sophomores
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) and
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) both pounded out 13 kills.
Junior
Bella Costa (Newbury, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) added nine kills for the Wolverines.
Senior setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) recorded 24 assists and junior
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) had 22 assists. Wirebaugh also served four aces.
Klusch led Grove City's defensive efforts with five blocks while Lagaras notched four blocks. Standford and freshman
Lilly Pool (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) each recorded three blocks.
Sophomore libero
Julia Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) posted a season-best 45 digs. Costa collected 26 digs while Lagaras (15) and Kerr (12) also had double-digit dig totals.
The Wolverines conclude a three-match road swing Wednesday night at Geneva.
