GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Three Grove City College men's soccer players each scored their first respective goal of the 2023 season Friday afternoon as the Wolverines kicked off Homecoming Weekend with a 3-0 non-conference win over Point Park at Don Lyle Field.

Matt Van Kirk (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny), senior midfielder
Chris Eklund (St. Charles, Ill./Wheaton Academy) and sophomore midfielder
Zac Campagna (Mars, Pa./Mars) all scored Friday to vault Grove City (4-2-4) to its fourth straight overall win.
Van Kirk opened the scoring at 5:05 when he scored off an assist from sophomore midfielder
Matt Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore). Eklund doubled the lead 95 seconds before halftime when he scored his first goal of the campaign. Junior midfielder
Will Rybka (Peninsula, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) assisted Eklund's goal.
Grove City sewed up the win at 57:23 when Campagna scored. Junior forward
Jordan Rebsamen (Charlotte, N.C../Carmel Christian) assisted the Campagna goal.
Grove City outshot Point Park, 16-6, including a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. The Wolverines accumulated 15 corner kicks while Point Park had one corner.Â

Jacob Clark (New Cumberland, W.Va./Oak Glen) earned his first collegiate win and shutout by making two saves.Â
The Wolverines now have four shutouts this season, including back-to-back shutouts. The Wolverines have outscored their opponents 12-3 during the four-match win streak. Nine different men have scored during the win streak.
Grove City returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference play Wednesday at 7 p.m. against visiting Thiel.
