GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team moved to 1-0-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by recording a 3-3 draw with visiting Franciscan in conference action at Don Lyle Field. Grove City (4-3-1, 1-0-1) stormed out to a 3-0 lead but Franciscan scored three times in the second half to forge the deadlock.
Grove City scored twice in a 54-second span of the first half to grab a 2-0 lead. Junior forward
Emma Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) scored the first of her two goals at 17:22 after receiving an assist from senior midfielder
Megan Mathes (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle).Â
The lead swelled to 2-0 at 18:16 as senior forward
Gianna D'Amato (Maywood, N.J./Hawthorne Christian) scored her third goal of the season. Junior forward
Britta Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and sophomore defender
Karly Keller (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area) each recorded assists on the goal.
Herrmann scored her second goal of the match at 21:54 after a Lagerquist feed. Herrmann leads Grove City with seven goals this season.
Franciscan cut the lead to 3-1 at 50:39 on a goal from Tania Davidson. Juliana Rubino scored on a penalty kick at 68:40. Rubino then tied the game at 83:38.
Grove City held an 18-11 edge in shots, including a 10-2 advantage during the first 45 minutes. Grove City held a 9-6 edge in shots on goal. Franciscan had six corner kicks while the Wolverines recorded four corners.

The Wolverines will visit Westminster at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in conference action.
