TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team earned a pair of victories Saturday at the
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Invitational as the Wolverines concluded the weekend with a 2-1 mark.
Grove City (14-4 overall) opened Saturday with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-10 triumph over Asbury. Grove City then racked up a 25-27, 25-22, 25-23, 25-13 victory over Anderson (Ind.) in the tournament finale.
Senior Anna
DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) pounded out a team-leading 11 kills in the four-set win over Anderson. Senior
Grace Kim (Sanford, N.C./
Harnett Warriors) and freshman
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) both posted nine kills. Senior
Eloise Sutter (West Chester, Ohio/Mars Hill) and freshman Alexis
Standford (
Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) each contributed seven kills.
Junior setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) and sophomore setter Brooklyn
Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) each tallied 21 assists. Kerr served five aces while
DeGraaf had two aces.
DeGraaf led the defense with six blocks. Sutter, junior
Audrey Donnelly (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) and freshman
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) all had three blocks.Â
Kim paced the Wolverines with 21 digs and senior libero
Gabby Lucas (Butler, Pa./Butler) added 20 digs.Â
Dorst and Kim each recorded seven kills in the opener against Asbury. DeGraaf and freshman
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) each had six kills. Dorst also served aces while Kerr added two aces.
Wirebaugh tallied 16 assists and Kerr had 11 assists. Defensively, DeGraaf recorded three blocks. Kim and Lucas each had 10 digs.
Grove City returns to action next Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Geneva.
