Saving Grace! Forry scores game winner in 2nd OT

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Freshman attack Grace Forry (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) scored her first collegiate goal 18 seconds into the second overtime Tuesday night to lift the Grove City College women's lacrosse team to a 12-11 double-overtime victory over visiting Medaille (1-1) in non-conference action at Don Lyle Field.

Forry became the eighth different Grove City player to score in the game when she received a feed from sophomore midfielder Emily Arnold (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) on the first possession of the sixth period and then fired in the game-winner. The score also marked Grove City's first man-up goal of the 2023 season.

Senior midfielder Madison Nazigian (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) helped pace Grove City's balanced attack by scoring three goals. Junior attack Madeline Dunda (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and sophomore defender Sarah Jackson (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) both scored a pair of goals for the Wolverines (1-2).

Arnold, sophomore midfielder Abby Roetering (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg), freshman attack Jackie Rowell (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) and sophomore defender Amber Wartman (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) joined Forry in the scoring column.

Arnold also assisted Nazigian's third goal of the evening, which cut Medaille's lead to 10-9 in the fourth quarter. Nazigian, Roetering, Rowell, Wartman and sophomore attack Sarah Pindel (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) also notched assists.

Grove City trailed 10-8 with 10:35 left but consecutive goals from Nazigian, Jackson and Arnold put the Wolverines ahead with 6:59 left. Medaille's Kara Anderson scored at 4:58 to forge the seventh and final tie of the game.
