GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) honored Grove City College senior guard
Vinny LePre (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) as a First Team Division III All-American Monday morning in recognition of his play during the 2023 season. It is LePre's second AFCA All-America honor as he earned Second Team All-America following the 2022 season.
The 285-pound LePre helped lead Grove City to its first-ever 10-0 regular season, the outright Presidents' Athletic Conference title and the Wolverines' first appearance in the NCAA Division III playoffs this fall. He anchored a veteran offensive line that allowed only four sacks in 12 games this season.
His efforts on the offensive line helped Grove City average 5.8 yards per offensive play, including 4.6 yards per carry. The Wolverines also converted a Presidents' Athletic Conference-best 50.0 percent of their third down opportunities this season. Grove City's power rushing attack allowed the Wolverines to lead the league in average time of possession, 32:53.
LePre recently earned D3football.com First Team All-Region 2 honors for the second straight season. He also earned his fourth First Team All-PAC honor.
A two-year team captain, LePre earned Grove City College's Sportsman of the Year for the 2022-23 academic year. He has twice earned Academic All-District from College Sports Communicators and has again been nominated for CSC's Academic All-America program.
Grove City finished 11-1 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs in 2023.
This is the fourth straight fall season that a Grove City player has received AFCA national recognition.
Wesley Schools earned AFCA All-American in 2019 while Cody Gustafson captured AFCA All-America in 2021.Â
LePre is the third Grove City player to earn All-America honors in multiple seasons during his career. Doug Hart earned All-America recognition in both 1986 and 1987. R.J. Bowers earned All-America distinction from multiple organizations in 1998, 1999 and 2000.
