LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team never trailed Wednesday night on its way to a 25-14, 25-14, 25-16 sweep of host Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Carey Center. It is Grove City's ninth sweep of the season.
Senior
Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) paced Grove City with a season-high 15 kills on only 21 attacks. She recorded a .619 hitting percentage, raising her season mark to a conference-best .378.
Freshman
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) recorded 10 kills while classmate
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) tallied eight kills.Â
Junior setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) registered 22 assists and sophomore setter
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) added 15 assists. Kerr also served two aces, giving her a team-leading 50 for the season. She is the first Grove City player to reach 50 aces in a season since Cara Denniston had 70 aces in 2002.
DeGraaf also had a team-high four blocks for Grove City (17-8, 3-3 PAC) while Standford and junior
Audrey Donnelly (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) each had three blocks. Senior
Eloise Sutter (West Chester, Ohio/Mars Hill) added a pair of blocks.
Freshman libero
Julia Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) recorded 28 digs. Senior
Gabby Lucas (Butler, Pa./Butler) added 11 digs while senior
Grace Kim (Sanford, N.C./Harnett Warriors) contributed 10 digs.Â
Grove City has the open date this weekend in the conference schedule. The Wolverines will host Bethany next Wednesday in conference action at 6 p.m. in the Grove City College Arena.
