Senior midfielder Megan Mathes (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) opened the offensive outburst by scoring twice within two minutes. She scored her first goal at 9:00 after receiving a cross from junior forward Britta Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel). Mathes then doubled the lead at 10:52 with her third goal of the season. Senior forward Gianna D'Amato (Maywood, N.J./Hawthorne Christian) assisted Mathes' goal, which turned out to be the game-winner.

Grove City's lead swelled to 3-0 at 12:47 as junior forward Emma Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) recorded her team-leading ninth goal of the season. D'Amato and Lagerquist each assisted the goal.
