GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team accumulated a 24-6 edge in total shots Wednesday afternoon against visiting Allegheny but the Wolverines dropped a 2-1 home decision in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Lyle Field.
Grove City (4-4-5, 3-2-1) broke through at 79:06 when freshman
Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy) scored an unassisted goal. It is Gray's second goal of the season.
Gray's goal came 25 seconds after Allegheny's Aidan Dyga scored off a corner kick to give the Gators (4-8, 3-3 PAC) a 2-0 lead. Allegheny opened the scoring at 23:03 on a Gunnar Brettell goal.
In addition to its edge in total shots, Grove City also held a 9-4 edge in shots on goal. Grove City owned a 14-2 edge in shots in the second half. The Wolverines had 11 corner kicks in the match while Allegheny had six corners.Â

Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) made two first-half saves for Grove City.
The Wolverines return to action Saturday at 7 p.m. with a conference match at Bethany.
