GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision Wednesday afternoon to visiting Westminster in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Lyle Field.
Grove City slashed Westminster's lead to 2-1 at 84:33 when senior forward
Hailey Weinert (Bel Air, Md./Kennett, Pa.) directed the ball past Westminster goalkeeper Morgan Murphy for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.Â
Weinert's goal came after a long pass from sophomore forward
Britta Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel). Lagerquist chalked up her team-high third assist of the season.
Westminster took a 1-0 lead when Amanda Lewis scored at 14:24. McKenzie Powell doubled the lead at 43:16 when she scored on a rebound.
Westminster held a 22-12 edge total shots and a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal. Grove City had three corner kicks while Westminster merited one corner.

Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) made eight saves for the Wolverines.Â
Grove City (2-6-1, 0-2-1) will host Wittenberg in non-conference play Saturday at 5 p.m. as part of Homecoming Weekend.
