GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team celebrated Homecoming Weekend 2022 by securing a 3-1 non-conference victory Saturday evening over visiting Wittenberg at Don Lyle Field.

Lexi Zook (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsrove) scored her first goal of the season at 2:07, giving the Wolverines a 1-0 lead.

Gianna D'Amato (Maywood, N.J./Hawthorne Christian) doubled the lead at 22:29 by recording her second goal of 2022. Sophomore forward
Britta Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) assisted the goal.

Natalie Merrick (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian) capped the first half with an unassisted goal at 34:00. Merrick now has three goals, which ranks second on the squad.Â
Wittenberg, picked second in the North Coast Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll, cut the lead to 3-1 when Alex Hill scored at 68:52.Â
Grove City outshot Wittenberg, 18-14. Each team had 11 shots on goal. Grove City tallied three corner kicks and Wittenberg had two corners.Â

Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) stopped a season-high 10 shots to earn the win.
Grove City returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference play Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Thiel.
