LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team earned 17th place Saturday out of 34 teams at the Lock Haven University Invitational. Grove City finished the meet with 479 team points. Division I Cornell won the team event with 37 points while Division II programs Wayne State (67), Seton Hill (116) and Slippery Rock (149) earned the next three places.
Sophomore
Lydia Bennett (Bethel, Maine/Gould Academy) led Grove City by taking 44th overall. She completed the six-kilometer course with a time of 22 minutes, 43.80 seconds. Bennett took 10th among NCAA Division III runners in the event.
Sophomore
Emma Fiscus (Brookville, Pa./Brookville) finished 100th with a time of 23:53.20 while sophomore
Julia Bauer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) took 117th in 24:05.50. Freshman
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) placed 131st (24:14.90) and sophomore
Alayna Stiansen (Kintnersville, Pa./Palisades) earned 152nd with a time of 24:33.30.
Senior
Alaina Post (New Berlin, Pa./Mifflinburg) finished 171st (24:53.30) and sophomore
Kaylynn Johnson (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) rounded out the scoring lineup with a time of 25:02.20, good for 179th.
Scranton senior Jessica Hoffman won the individual race with a time of 21:15.40. The field featured 285 competitors.
Grove City returns to action Saturday, October 15 at the Marymount Invitational in Arlington, Va.
