GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team fired in 17 goals over the first 30 minutes Wednesday night on the way to a 27-7 win at Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Alumni Stadium. Grove City led 7-1 after one quarter, then broke open the game with 10 goals in the second period. Overall, 12 men scored for the Wolverines (9-4, 3-0 PAC).
Eight Grove City players scored multiple goals, led by a six-goal performance from freshman attack
Matt Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima). Junior attack
James Petrolle (Damascus, Md./Damascus) scored three times and added three assists while senior attack
Josh Spicher (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and freshman midfielder
Alec Jones (Chesterfield, N.J./Notre Dame) also scored three goals.

Griffen Agawa (San Ramon, Calif./California) each tallied one assist.
Blythe and Petrolle both scored twice in the first quarter as the Wolverines erased an early 1-0 deficit. Blythe then scored three of Grove City's 10 goals in the second quarter as Grove City extended its lead to 17-1.Â
Senior
Grant Evans (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) won all 10 of his faceoff opportunities. Sophomore
Jack Atwood (Hudson, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) won 10 of 13 faceoffs while senior
Keith Torrillo (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) won 8 of 10 chances.Â
Evans led the Wolverines with 10 ground balls. Blythe picked up seven ground balls while Atwood had six ground balls and Torrillo tallied five ground balls. Grove City held a 69-32 edge in ground balls.Â
The Wolverines also out-shot Thiel (4-7, 2-1 PAC) 72-23. Sophomore
Danny Stone (Chantilly, Va./Flint Hill) earned the win in goal by stopping two shots in the first half. Junior
Jack Petit (Pensacola, Fla./West Florida High School of Advanced Technology) made six saves over the final 30 minutes.
Winners of seven straight, Grove City will host Bethany at 7 p.m. Tuesday in conference play at Robert E. Thorn Field.Â
