3rd straight win for Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- A balanced offensive attack lifted the Grove City College women's lacrosse team to a 21-3 win over visiting La Roche in non-conference action Friday afternoon at Don Lyle Field. It is Grove City's third straight victory.

Twelve players scored for Grove City (3-1), led by three-goal outings from senior attack Brooke Stoltzfus (Elverson, Pa./Conestoga Christian), sophomore attack Madeline Dunda (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley), freshman midfielder Amber Wartman (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) and freshman attack Abby Roetering (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg). Junior midfielder Madison Nazigian (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) added a pair of goals.

The Wolverines also received goals from freshman midfielder Isabelle Campbell (Bend, Ore./Bend), senior attack Grace Dymski (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle), freshman defender Sarah Jackson (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield), freshman midfielder Maddie Krabitz (Catonsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian), senior defender Tirzah Lloyd (Durham, N.C./Homeschooled), sophomore midfielder Lucy Martin (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) and freshman defender Mackeyla Viana (Lexington, Mass./Lexington Christian).

Grove City stormed out to an 8-1 lead in the first quarter, then extended the lead to 14-1 by halftime.

Stoltzfus also assisted two goals. Dymski, Martin, freshman attack Anna Korzeniewski (Boyds, Md./Clarksburg) and freshman attack Sarah Pindel (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) each tallied assists. 

Grove City outshot La Roche, 47-8, including a 42-8 edge in shots on goal. Grove City forced 35 La Roche turnovers. The Wolverines turned over possession 23 times.

Nazigian won 10 draw controls while Martin had six draw controls. Stoltzfus led the Wolverines with seven ground balls. Martin picked up five ground balls and Jackson recorded three ground balls. Dymski and Stoltzfus both caused three turnovers.

Freshman goalie Elyse Kiggins (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) earned the win by making three saves in 35 minutes, 29 seconds of action. Freshman Ava Fletcher (Telford, Pa./Homeschooled) stopped two shots over the final 24:31.

Grove City will visit Alfred at 4 p.m. Tuesday in non-conference action.
