LATROBE, Pa. -- Stout defense and balanced offense vaulted the Grove City College men's basketball team to a 72-36 victory Saturday afternoon at Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Carey Center. The 36 points marks the lowest point total yielded by the Wolverines in a conference game since February 3, 1999, when Grove City earned a 59-35 home win over Washington & Jefferson.
Grove City forced 21 turnovers and held Saint Vincent to 13 of 46 (28 percent) shooting from the field. Grove City did not allow a three-point goal and out-rebounded the Bearcats, 59-32.Â
Junior forward
Elijah White (Zelienople, Pa./Portersville Christian) paced Grove City with a game-high 16 points. White also collected a team-leading six rebounds. Sophomore forward
Luca Robinson (Castaic, Calif./Hart) added nine points and senior guard
Ben Rose (Helena, Ala./Helena) tossed in eight points.
Thirteen men scored for Grove City and all 20 men on the roster participated in Saturday's game.
Grove City charged out to a 9-0 lead and never trailed. Robinson sparked the early run with a three-pointer, Rose scored on consecutive possession and White followed with a jumper.Â
The lead then swelled to 17-3 at the 13:15 mark when freshman guard
Jonah Bock (Erie, Pa./McDowell) drilled a three-pointer. Saint Vincent trimmed the lead to 21-11 with 8:30 left in the half but the Wolverines then held Saint Vincent without a field goal for the duration of the first half.

Christian Wiseman (Martinsville, Ind./Indian Creek) and White in the final two minutes of the half gave Grove City a 36-16 halftime lead.Â
Grove City opened the second half on a 16-2 run over the first eight minutes of the period. Freshman forward
Ben Cano (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) sparked the run with a three-pointer. Bock, Rose, White and freshman forward
Russ Gump (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) all added baskets in that stretch.
Bock and Wiseman each finished with seven points. Bock also had five rebounds. Rose recorded five assists and also had five steals.Â
Grove City finished the game 28 of 80 (35 percent) from the field for the game. The Wolverines turned over the ball 11 times.Â
Nelson Etuk led Saint Vincent with eight points.
Grove City concludes its four-game road swing Monday night at conference foe Chatham. Tip-off will be 7 p.m. The two teams will then meet in Grove City at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
