NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped an 81-67 verdict Saturday afternoon at Westminster in Presidents' Athletic Conference action in the Titans' Memorial Field House.
Sophomore guard
Jonah Bock (Erie, Pa./McDowell) fired in 17 points for the Wolverines while freshman forward Christian Suceveanu (Pacific Palisades, Calif./Loyola) added nine points. Thirteen men scored Saturday for Grove City.
Grove City finished the game 27 of 87 (31 percent) from the field for the game. The Wolverines shot 28 percent (12 of 43) in the first half as Westminster (6-1, 4-1 PAC) led 41-30 at halftime. Westminster finished 23 of 58 (40 percent) on field goals for the game.
Senior center
Josh Bryan (Salem, Va./Salem) and sophomore guard
Chase Yarberough (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) each pulled in seven rebounds for Grove City. Sophomore forward
John Ward (Charlotte, N.C./Covenant Day) added six rebounds. The Wolverines out-rebounded Westminster, 47-43. Twenty-six of the Wolverines' rebounds came at the offensive end.
Bryan also had four assists and a pair of steals. Grove City forced 18 turnovers. The Wolverines had only 13 turnovers.
Peyton Mele led Westminster with 25 points.
The Wolverines will host Bethany at 7 p.m. Wednesday in conference action.
