LATROBE, Pa. – Five Grove City College women's cross country runners placed in the top 30 Saturday to help the Wolverines earn fourth at the 11-team Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Saint Vincent College. Grove City finished the meet with 104 team points. Allegheny recorded a meet-low 41 team points.
Sophomore
Lydia Bennett (Bethel, Maine/Gould Academy) led Grove City's efforts Saturday by placing ninth in the 107-runner field. Bennett completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 23 minutes, 20.94 seconds. She earned Second Team All-PAC distinction.
Freshman
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) also earned All-PAC recognition by placing 20th overall. Karwowski earned Honorable Mention All-PAC with her time of 24:25.35.
Sophomore
Emma Fiscus (Brookville, Pa./Brookville) finished 22nd in 24:27.77 while classmate
Julia Bauer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) finished 29th (24:44.52). Senior
Alaina Post (New Berlin, Pa./Mifflinburg) placed 30th in a time of 24:56.44.
Junior
Sabrina Bergey (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) came home 37th with a time of 25:22.04. Junior
April Hanchosky (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) rounded out Grove City's scoring lineup with a 25:27.30 clocking, good for 38th.
Franciscan's Claire Walters won the individual race with a time of 22:00.06.
Grove City will host its annual Twilight 5K Friday night at Robert E. Thorn Field.
