Perfect 10! Wolverines 10-0 in PAC

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team closed the regular season Wednesday night by earning a 2-1 road victory over Washington & Jefferson in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Alexandre Stadium. Grove City (12-5 overall) concludes the conference schedule with a 10-0 record. It is the first time that Grove City has completed its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule with a perfect record. The 10 league wins are also a single-season program record.

Grove City broke a 1-1 tie 10:01 into the second half when junior forward Hunter Hardin (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Freeport) scored his fifth goal of the season. Senior forward Sam Belitz (Independence, Ohio/Independence) supplied the assist on Hardin's game-winning goal.

The Wolverines grabbed a 1-0 lead at 6:55 when freshman midfielder Aidan Eck (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) scored an unassisted goal. W&J tied the match on Nolan Agostini's goal at the 30:22 mark.

Grove City held a 14-6 edge in total shots. The Wolverines also doubled up W&J in shots on goal, 6-3. Grove City had five corner kicks while W&J (6-8-2, 3-5-2 PAC) had one corner kick.

Senior goalkeeper Jesse Greyshock (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) stopped two shots in earning his 12th win of the season. 

Belitz leads Grove City with 28 points, including a team-leading 13 goals. Hardin ranks second on the team with 14 points, owning five goals and four assists this year. Hardin and Eck both have a team-leading four assists. 

As the top seed in the six-team conference tournament, the Wolverines receive a bye to the semifinal round. Grove City will host either No. 4 Allegheny or No. 5 Bethany at Don Lyle Field next Wednesday, November 2. Allegheny will host Bethany in Saturday's quarterfinal round.
