GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Eight Grove City College women's soccer players scored goals Tuesday night to help lift the Wolverines to a 9-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference victory over host Thiel at Alumni Stadium.
Sophomore forward
Britta Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) scored twice to pace Grove City. Junior forward
Gianna D'Amato (Maywood, N.J./Hawthorne Christian), freshman midfielderÂ
Rian Garvey (Hookstown, Pa./South Side Beaver), freshman forward
Natalie Giunta (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield), junior defender
Holly Grose (Kailua, Hawai'i/F.H.S.A.A.), sophomore forward
Natalie Merrick (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian), sophomore forward
Grace Smith (Dover, Ohio/Dover) and freshman forward
Annie Vannoy (Waldoboro, Maine/Medomak Valley) also scored.Â

Melia Lamie (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) posted a pair of assists. D'Amato, Smith, freshman defender
Karly Keller (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area) and sophomore defender
Ella Wrabley (Carnegie, Pa./Our Lady of Sacred Heart) all added assists.Â
Grose opened the scoring with her first collegiate goal at the 3:31 mark. Lamie assisted Grose's goal.Â
Lagerquist then scored respective goals at 11:48 and 16:10, pushing the lead to 3-0. D'Amato assisted the first goal and Keller assisted Lagerquist's second score.Â
D'Amato pushed the lead to 4-0 at 21:32 after receiving a pass from Lamie. Merrick and Giunta followed with unassisted goals while Garvey's goal at 38:06 closed the first half scoring. Smith assisted the Garvey goal.
Vannoy scored her first collegiate goal at 51:13, unassisted. Smith capped the scoring at 74:08 with her second goal of 2022. Wrabley assisted Smith.
Thiel broke up the shutout at 60:04 on a goal by Hannah Strott.
Grove City outshot Thiel, 16-8, including a 16-4 edge in shots on goal. Grove City had nine corner kicks whereas Thiel (2-7, 0-5 PAC) had two corners.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) made one save in 45 minutes, earning the win. Freshman
Sara Swoboda (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Academy) made two saves in the second half.Â
Winners of two straight, Grove City (4-6-1, 1-2-1 PAC) hosts Geneva at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in conference play at Don Lyle Field.
