WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped a 76-62 decision Saturday afternoon at Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Rudy Marisa Field House. Waynesburg (10-5, 6-2 PAC) led 34-33 at halftime and then converted 14 Grove City turnovers into 28 points over the final 20 minutes.
Senior guard
Ben Rose (Helena, Ala./Helena) paced Grove City with 14 points and sophomore forward
Luca Robinson (Castaic, Calif./Hart) added 13 points. Overall, 12 men scored for the Wolverines.Â
Rose also led Grove City with six rebounds and Robinson recorded five rebounds. The Wolverines outrebounded Waynesburg, 33-20.Â
Grove City shot 23 of 52 (44 percent) from the field for the game, including a 5-for-10 performance on three-pointers. Waynesburg shot 54 percent (28 of 52) for the game.
Freshman forward
Russ Gump (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) distributed three assists. Rose had two steals. Grove City finished the game with 18 total turnovers. Waynesburg committed six turnovers.Â
Matt Popeck led Waynesburg with 33 points.
Grove City begins a three-game homestand Monday at 7:30 p.m. when the Wolverines host Geneva in conference play.
