Saturday night sweep

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team opened its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule by earning a pair of home wins Saturday evening as part of a tri-match in the Grove City College Arena. Grove City rallied for an 18-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-15, 15-11 victory over Bethany in the opener. Grove City (6-4, 2-0) then swept Saint Vincent in the nightcap, 25-15, 27-25, 25-17. 

Junior Faith Keating (Troy, Mich./Troy) posted a match-high 20 kills against Bethany and sophomore Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) added 17 kills on only 32 attacks. 

Sophomore Katie Pry (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) recorded nine kills and sophomore Grace Kim (Sanford, N.C./Homeschooled) contributed eight kills. 

Freshman setter Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) distributed 30 assists and fellow freshman Katie Kenlein (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) tallied 17 assists. Freshman libero Mya Lathem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) chipped in nine assists. Kenlein served three aces while Keating and Lathem both had two aces.

Freshman Audrey Donnelly (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) posted a team-leading six blocks while DeGraaf and junior Robyn Collier (Corona, Calif./Carnegie Riverside) both had three blocks.

Lathem tallied 28 digs while Kim added 20 digs. Kenlein contributed 17 digs, Keating had 16 digs and Kerr recorded 10 digs.

Keating and Kim paced Grove City's balanced attack against Saint Vincent as each player posted nine kills. Collier, DeGraaf and Pry all had five kills. Kerr notched 18 assists while Kenlein added 15 assists. 

Lathem led the defensive effort with 18 digs and Keating added 10 digs. DeGraaf had two blocks.

Grove City will play a conference tri-match Wednesday at 6 p.m. in New Wilmington. Grove City plays Geneva in the opener, then closes the night by facing host Westminster.
