GREENSBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team opened the 2021 season Wednesday night by rolling to a 25-23, 25-10, 25-21 victory at Pitt-Greensburg in non-conference action at Chambers Hall.
Junior
Faith Keating (Troy, Mich./Troy) helped pace Grove City (1-0) by pounding out a dozen kills. Sophomore
Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) added 11 kills in the victory.
Freshman setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) recorded 19 assists in her collegiate debut. Classmate
Katie Kenlein (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) distributed 12 assists. Fellow freshman
Mya Lathem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) served two aces.
Defensively, DeGraaf posted four blocks and freshman
Audrey Donnelly (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) added two blocks. Lathem and sophomore
Gabby Lucas (Butler, Pa./Butler) both chalked up 16 digs.
Grove City will compete in the Calvin University Tournament Friday and Saturday. The Wolverines will face Calvin and Otterbein on the first day of action. Saturday, Grove City meets Augsburg and Kalamazoo.
