Wolverines fall in 2nd round of NCAA Tournament

ROME, Ga. -- The Grove City College men's tennis team concluded the spring 2021 season Friday afternoon by dropping a 5-0 decision to Brandeis in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, hosted by the Rome Tennis Center.

Brandeis (7-1) won the three doubles matches, then picked up wins at second and third singles, respectively, to clinch the team victory.

Brandeis owns two wins over Division I Merrimack, along with wins over Division II Bentley and Franklin Pierce this season. Brandeis will play Southern Virginia or Skidmore in Saturday's third round.

Grove City competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. Friday's match marked the Wolverines' first appearance in the second round since 2012. The Wolverines finished 9-3 overall.
