GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over visiting Thiel (3-6) Tuesday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The third-seeded Wolverines (7-2) advance to Friday's semifinals, where they will play No. 2 Franciscan.
Grove City dropped only five games in doubles play, then recorded six straight-set wins in singles action.Â
Grove City will play Franciscan at 4 p.m. Friday in Washington, Pa. The winner of that semifinal will play either No. 1 Westminster or No. 4 Washington & Jefferson in Saturday's title match. Westminster and Franciscan both received byes into the semifinals of the six-team draw. W&J is the predetermined host of the conference tournament.
