GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by securing an 18-1 home win Saturday afternoon over Chatham in conference action at Robert E. Thorn Field. The Wolverines established a single-game program record by holding Chatham to one goal.

Jack Petit (Pensacola, Fla./West Florida High School of Advanced Technology) and junior goalkeeper
R.J. Miller (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) combined to limit Chatham's offense. Petit made seven saves in the first half and Miller stopped eight shots while blanking the Cougars in the second half.
Four Grove City men scored multiple goals, led by a six-goal outing from junior midfielder

La Forte also assisted five goals, giving him a seven-point afternoon. He now leads the conference with 19 assists. La Forte and Petrolle both have a league-leading 36 points.
Gladstone added two assists as he finished the game with eight points. Freshmen

Grant Evans (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) all tallied assists.
Gladstone and Speers each scored three goals in the first quarter to help Grove City jump out to a 6-0 lead. Gladstone added three more goals in the second quarter, including the Wolverines' first man-down goal of 2021. Petrolle scored twice and La Forte added a goal to help Grove City possess a 12-1 halftime lead.
Evans won 11 of 14 faceoffs while Chmura won 5 of 7 opportunities. Evans picked up 12 ground balls and La Forte added five ground balls. Chmura, junior defender

Addison Bennett (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) all collected three ground balls. Bennett also caused three turnovers and senior defender
Patrick Mark (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Wellington) caused turnovers.
Grove City outshot Chatham (2-4, 0-1), 49-31. The Wolverines held a 34-16 edge in shots on goal. Grove City turned over the ball 27 times and Chatham had 26 turnovers. Grove City scored on two of its six man-up opportunities while Chatham went 0 for 6 in that situation.
Winners of five straight, Grove City will host Thiel at 7 p.m. Tuesday in conference play at Robert E. Thorn Field.
