Grove City rallies for OT win

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 double-overtime victory Wednesday night over archrival Westminster in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Lyle Field. The Wolverines scored the tying goal in the 78th minute, then scored the game-winner in the second overtime period.

Sophomore forward Sam Belitz (Independence, Ohio/Independence) broke the 1-1 tie by scoring at 107:09. Belitz received a feed from junior Holton Gwaltney (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) near the top of the box. Belitz beat a defender and then directed the shot over Westminster goalkeeper Jad Jadallah for the game-winning score.

Belitz also scored the tying goal for Grove City (3-1, 3-1) at 77:22 when he headed in a corner kick from fellow sophomore Mark Guinta (Fairfield, Conn./Christian Heritage).

Belitz now leads the conference with four goals. Guinta has a conference-leading four assists.

Westminster took a 1-0 lead at the 32:00 mark when Nick Iregui scored an unassisted goal.

Junior goalkeeper Luke Greenway (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) earned the victory Wednesday night by making six saves. It is his 20th career victory.
