LATROBE, Pa. – Eleven Grove City College men's lacrosse players scored goals Wednesday afternoon to help lift the visiting Wolverines to a 22-9 victory at Saint Vincent in both teams' Presidents' Athletic Conference opener.
Grove City led 7-5 at halftime and then asserted control of the game with a 10-goal outburst in the third period. Senior midfielder
Patrick Mark (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Wellington) scored 13 seconds into the second half to spark the Grove City surge.

Blaise Bishop (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) scored four times in the third quarter while junior midfielder
Brett Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) scored twice in the period.

Jack Carpenter (Newtown, Conn./St. Joseph) and freshman
Gavin Wilson (McKinney, Texas/Cornerstone Christian) also scored goals in the pivotal third quarter.

Evans won 20 of 22 faceoffs and sophomore
Max Chmura (Wadsworth, Ohio/Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) captured 7 of 10 faceoffs.
Evans led Grove City with 20 ground balls. Chmura and senior defender
Jared Hurd (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) each recorded three ground balls. Hurd also caused two turnovers.
Sophomore goalie
Jack Petit (Pensacola, Fla./West Florida High School of Advanced Technology) stopped 14 shots, earning the victory.
Grove City outshot Saint Vincent, 51-38, including a 31-23 edge in shots on goal. Grove City had 20 turnovers and Saint Vincent turned over the ball 19 times.
The Wolverines (4-1, 1-0 PAC) return to action Saturday, April 10 when they host Chatham in conference play at Robert E. Thorn Field.
