GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Sophomore forward
Mark Guinta (Fairfield, Conn./Christian Heritage) scored a pair of goals and added three assists Saturday afternoon to help lead the Grove City College men's soccer team to an 8-0 home win over Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Don Lyle Field.

Chris Eklund (St. Charles, Ill./Wheaton Academy) also scored twice in the win for Grove City. Freshman forward
Hunter Hardin (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Freeport) and junior forward
Kennan Roewer (Colorado Springs, Colo./Classical Academy) added goals.
Guinta opened the scoring at 8:30 when he scored his first goal of the spring 2021 season. Junior
Holton Gwaltney (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) assisted Guinta's goal.
Belitz doubled the lead at 23:59, with freshman
Jacob Graham (Creston, Ohio/Norwayne) supplying the assist. Roewer scored Grove City's third goal at 32:19 after receiving a feed from Hardin. Grove City led 3-0 at halftime.
Guinta scored 2:10 into the second half as freshman
Chris DeLucia (Kent, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) assisted Guinta. Guinta then assisted Belitz's second goal nine minutes later. Hardin's unassisted goal at 65:49 pushed the lead to 6-0.
Eklund scored twice in the final eight minutes to close the scoring. Guinta assisted on both goals, scored respectively at 82:26 and 88:31.
Grove City outshot Thiel, 21-2, including a 12-1 advantage in shots on goal. Grove City had 11 corner kicks while Thiel recorded one corner.
Three men combined for the shutout in goal. Junior
Luke Greenway (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) started and played 40 minutes, 44 seconds. Sophomores
Grant Baierl (Bradford Woods, Pa./North Allegheny) and
Jesse Greyshock (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) both played in relief. Baierl played 13:47 while Greyshock made one save over 35:29 of action.
Guinta is the first Grove City player with three assists in a game since September 3, 2016, when Stephen Betteridge accomplished the feat against Juniata. Guinta's seven points are the most for a Grove City player since Seth Loew's eight-point outing October 8, 2014 at Thiel.
The Wolverines (2-0, 2-0) will visit Geneva next Saturday at 7 p.m. in conference play.
