GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Six Grove City College men's lacrosse players scored multiple goals Saturday afternoon to help lead the Wolverines to an 18-2 victory over visiting Washington & Jefferson in a clash of Presidents' Athletic Conference members at Robert E. Thorn Field.

Jed Speers (Medina, Ohio/Medina) and junior midfielder
Brett Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) both posted four-goal, two-assist outings for the Wolverines (2-1).

Blaise Bishop (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West), freshman midfielder
Jack Carpenter (Newton, Conn./St. Joseph), sophomore attack
James Petrolle (Damascus, Md./Damascus) and junior midfielder
Michael La Forte (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) all scored twice for Grove City.
Senior attack
Aidan Morse (Lynchburg, Va./New Covenant) and senior midfielder
Patrick Mark (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Wellington) also scored in the win.
Grove City bolted to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter as Gladstone and Petrolle each scored twice in the period. Speers opened the scoring at 11:57, then added two assists later in the first quarter.
Speers scored twice in the second quarter while Bishop, Carpenter and La Forte added goals as Grove City led 12-0 at halftime.
La Forte and Petrolle both recorded four assists while Bishop, Carpenter, Morse and junior
Grant Evans (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) all assisted one goal.
Evans won 8 of 11 faceoffs and picked up a team-leading seven ground balls. Bishop had six ground balls while Gladstone and Mark both had five ground balls each. Petrolle, junior
Keith Torrillo (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) and sophomore
Max Chmura (Wadsworth, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) had four ground balls apiece.
Junior defender
Addison Bennett (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) helped lead the Grove City defense by causing five turnovers.
Freshman goalkeeper
Danny Stone (Chantilly, Va./Flint Hill) earned his first collegiate win after making 12 saves. Stone made his collegiate debut Saturday.
Grove City owned a 55-28 edge in shots and a 31-14 advantage in shots on goal. The Wolverines also scored on three of their four man-up opportunities.
Saturday's game does not count toward the conference standings. The teams will meet April 24 in Washington, Pa. That second meeting will count in the league race.
Grove City will visit Chatham next Saturday at 11 a.m.
