GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College leads the race for the coveted Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's All-Sports Trophy and the College women's teams are a mere half-point out of first place in the women's competition, following the conclusion of the 2021-22 fall sports season. Grove City also leads the conference with 51 total All-Sports points.
Consistently strong finishes across the board during the fall placed Grove City at the top of the standings. Grove City's men's cross country, football and soccer teams accumulated 22.5 team points, giving them a 3.5-point lead over Franciscan, Washington & Jefferson and Westminster. On the women's side, Grove City's cross country, soccer, tennis and volleyball teams accrued 28.5 team points this fall.Â
Grove City owns a three-point lead (51-48) over Westminster in total All-Sports points.
Points are awarded on an incrementally descending scale. First-place teams receive 10 points, second-place teams receive nine points and the scale continues until the 10th-place team nets one point.
Grove City has claimed the Men's All-Sports Trophy in each of the last two years the conference awarded it. Grove City's women's teams have earned the All-Sports Trophy five times in the last 10 years the Trophy has been presented. The conference did not award the All-Sports Trophy during the 2019-20 academic year.
