GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team split a Presidents' Athletic Conference tri-match Saturday afternoon at Thiel College's Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia. The Wolverines opened play with a 28-26, 25-19, 25-18 setback against Thiel. However, Grove City (13-7, 6-3 PAC) bounced back for a 25-20, 25-14, 23-25, 25-18 victory over Washington & Jefferson in Saturday's second match.
Sophomore
Eloise Augustine (West Chester, Ohio/Mars Hill) highlighted the win over W&J by posting a career-high 14 kills. Junior
Faith Keating (Troy, Mich./Troy) recorded 11 kills while sophomore
Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) tallied seven kills. Sophomore
Katie Pry (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) chipped in six kills.
Freshman setter
Katie Kenlein (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) recorded 18 assists while freshman
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) tallied 17 assists. Keating and freshman
Mya Lathem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) each served two aces.
Keating and senior
Carrie Dill (Mount Pleasant, Ohio/Buckeye Local) both had two blocks. Lathem chalked up 25 digs, Keating had 16 digs and Kerr finished with 14 digs. Augustine also reached double figures with 11 digs.
Augustine led Grove City in the opener at Thiel by pounding out 10 kills. Freshman
Audrey Donnelly (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) posted six kills and freshman
Lexie Auth (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) added four kills in one set of action. Kenlein finished with 18 assists. Kerr doled out eight assists.Â
DeGraaf and junior
Robyn Collier (Corona, Calif./Carnegie Riverside) each had a team-high three blocks for the Wolverines. Lathem led Grove CIty with 16 digs. Keating finished with 14 digs and Kenlein had 13 digs.Â
