STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team earned a 25-13, 25-14, 25-17 victory Tuesday night at Franciscan in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Finnegan Field House. It is Grove City's eighth sweep of the fall 2021 season.
Junior
Faith Keating (Troy, Mich./Troy) helped lead Grove City (14-7, 7-3 PAC) by posting 15 kills on only 29 attacks. Sophomore
Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) added eight kills for Grove City, which posted a .326 hitting percentage in the match.
Freshman setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) recorded a team-leading 21 assists and freshman
Katie Kenlein (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) distributed eight assists. Sophomore
Eloise Augustine (West Chester, Ohio/Mars Hill) served a career-best four assists while Kerr added two aces.
DeGraaf led Grove City's defensive effort with four blocks. Senior
Amanda Schmidt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian), junior
Robyn Collier (Corona, Calif./Carnegie Riverside) and sophomore
Katie Pry (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) all had three blocks. Keating added a pair of blocks.
Augustine had a team-leading 12 digs and Keating totaled 11 digs.
Grove City will close the week with a pair of home conference matches. The Wolverines host Waynesburg at 7 p.m. Thursday. Saturday, Grove City hosts Chatham at 11 a.m. The Wolverines are 6-0 at home this year.
