GROVE CITY, Pa. -- A four-goal outburst in the second half helped propel the Grove City College women's soccer team to a 5-1 Senior Day victory Saturday afternoon over visiting Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Lyle Field.
Grove City (9-7, 6-2 PAC) broke a 1-1 tie 3:11 into the second half as senior midfielder 
Lillian Kimpel (Canfield, Ohio/South Range) scored her first goal of the season. It is also Kimpel's first career game-winning goal. Fellow senior 
Tirzah Lloyd (Durham, N.C./Homeschooled) assisted Kimpel's goal.
Grove City pushed the lead to 3-1 at 71:17 when junior forward 
Hailey Weinert (Bel Air, Md./Kennett, Pa.) scored off an assist from senior 
Jacqui Netschert (Pittstown, N.J./North Hunterdon). Two minutes later, Netschert assisted a goal by freshman forward 
Natalie Merrick (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian).
The Wolverines closed the scoring at 85:01 when freshman midfielder 
Lexi Zook (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) scored her first goal of the season. Classmate 
Britta Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) assisted Zook's goal.
Weinert gave Grove City a 1-0 lead at the 12:43 mark when she scored an unassisted goal. Bethany (4-11, 0-8) tied the match on Mary Marshall's goal at 37:11.
Grove City outshot Bethany, 32-4, including a 15-3 edge in shots on goal. Grove City also held a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) made two saves to earn the victory.
Prior to the match, Grove CIty honored Kimpel, Lloyd, Netschert, 
Lizzy Swoboda (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Academy) and 
Maggie Williams (Mars, Pa./Mars) as part of Senior Day festivities.
The Wolverines will close the regular season Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. with a home match against conference foe Saint Vincent. A win will give Grove City the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, which starts October 30 with quarterfinal matches.
