GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team closed the 2021 regular season Wednesday evening by earning a 3-1 home win over Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Lyle Field. Grove City (10-7, 7-2 PAC) clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament with Wednesday's victory. The Wolverines receive a bye into the semifinals of the six-team tournament.
Grove City grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 19:35 mark when junior forward 
Hailey Weinert (Bel Air, Md./Kennett, Pa.) scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season. Sophomore midfielder 
Megan Mathes (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) assisted Weinert's goal.
The Wolverines doubled the lead 2:38 into the second half as sophomore defender 
Rachel Sullivan (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) blasted in her first goal of the season from the right wing. Senior forward 
Jacqui Netschert (Pittstown, N.J./North Hunterdon) assisted Sullivan's score.
Saint Vincent cut the lead to 2-1 at 50:29 on Lauren May's goal. Grove City reclaimed its two-goal lead 17 minutes later, however, as Weinert scored her second goal of the evening. Freshman forward 
Natalie Merrick (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian) provided the assist.
Grove City held a 13-8 edge in shots, including a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal. Grove City had four corner kicks while Saint Vincent (5-11, 2-7 PAC) had three corners.

Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) made two saves to earn her 10th win of the season. 
Grove City will host a conference tournament semifinal next Wednesday at Don Lyle Field. The time of the match and opponent will be determined following Saturday's quarterfinals.
