LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team earned a 25-19, 26-24, 30-28 victory Tuesday night at Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Carey Center. Tuesday's win guarantees Grove City (17-7, 10-3 PAC) a spot in the season-ending six-team conference tournament.
Grove City featured a balanced offensive attack Tuesday night. Sophomore
Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) and junior
Faith Keating (Troy, Mich./Troy) each posted nine kills while junior
Robyn Collier (Corona, Calif./Carnegie Riverside) added eight kills. Sophomore
Lexie Auth (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) recorded five kills in the clinching third set.
Sophomore setter
Katie Kenlein (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) distributed 22 assists and sophomore setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) added 10 assists.
Freshman
Mya Lathem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) led the defensive effort by racking up 32 digs. Keating added 26 digs. Kenlein and sophomore
Eloise Augustine (West Chester, Ohio/Mars Hill) both had nine kills.
DeGraaf, senior
Amanda Schmidt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian) and junior
Katie Pry (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) all had two blocks.
Grove City will host conference rival Thiel at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Grove City College Arena.
